Miracast on old laptop

#Post

Hi there.
I have a Microsoft wireless display adapter in my TV which we use to cast from our phones.
I want to cast from my HP Probook 4510s running Windows 10 but the HP website does not supply Win10 drivers. I don't have a Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter in Device Manager.
My graphics driver doesn't support Miracsat. My driver model is WDDM 1.1 but it needs to be WDDM 1.3 or above.

Does anyone know of a usb graphics adapter that would provide Miracast functionality? (Then hopefully my WIFI adapter won't be a problem as well)

Thanks :)

Miracast seems to be bit hit and miss.. like it was standard that never took off.

Would adding a Chromecast to the TV be a solution.

That or with my newish smart Samsung and older Sony TV, didn't seem to need Miracast.. just connecting to wireless display with Windows Key + P seemed to work.. though not checked if this is just using the Miracast drivers unnamed

Why not just connect the computor to the TV with an HDMI cable

Windows key + P won't work for Chromecast either. The wireless display option is not there.
The laptop would be too far away from the TV for an HDMI cable to reach. Mr 2yrs would pull the cable and the laptop has to be somewhere he can't reach. (Which is getting increasingly difficult). Unless I run the cable under the floor.

Get a chromecast. It will work.
