Anybody share a boundary with the railways and got them to go halves in fencing. Also how do you get them to control their weeds ie broom and gorse.

Good luck with that one, The rail have a lot of legislation behind them, and there's managers managing managers, to even find the right person to start with is a mission.

Ha yeah. They'll probably tell you that you are legally responsible for the weeds out to the center line... Like the letter our council was sending people around here a few years ago regarding the roadside.

We do. Farm along a track. Never see or hear from them except a bit of railway land is fenced into our property (like half an acre) and they tried to bill us for it once. Probably 20 years ago now. Just ignored it and it went away. Have been there 43 years. They used to do the fences, and once a neighbour got them to supply material to replace his, (this was 30 years ago) but I think we are now fully responsible for fencing.

Could you use H.S.W. Act to compel them to make a safe work-place? Then, Noxious Weeds Act for gorse, etc.

Ha, not muggins me.. I started on a spray program and got a part of it done, then they sent around the mower and mowed it all as they always had, including the part I'd bloody well sprayed for them.
