Radio reception question

#Post
1

My partner listens to talkback radio (Newstalk ZB) while doing housework, just using a small pocket radio on AM. However increasingly of late the AM broadcast is going off the air, and FM reception where we live seems to be quite poor. We can get the FM broadcast on our kitchen radio but seems to need the telescopic antenna up. What is the best device to get reliable FM reception while moving around with an antenna?

Perhaps Headphones with FM receiver built in, and small inbuilt aerial? I'm sure I've seen a guy mowing lawns wearing similar.

If you have a smart phone tune into your desired radio station via your home wifi internet connection. These days many radio stations have an internet website giving listening access.

More complicated is to buy a small FM transmitter, from Jaycar, connect it to the kitchen radio loudspeaker and then you can use any small FM radio to receive it as a local station

Yes, that's the best way, listen to the radio digitally and no more worries about reception !

Jaycar have an excellent Digitech digital radio for $20. It doesn't shift off the station.
