Notice period for tenants

#Post

Can someone in the know tell me when is notice officially given to tenants in a house that is sold? I'm unsure on whether it is once the buyers have decided to buy it or once a sale is completed (ie money handed over etc etc). Thanks in advance.

when it goes unconditional, the required notice plus service.

Some houses are sold with standing tenants... maybe there will be no notice.

If a periodic tenancy once unconditional (not when the buyers have decided to buy).

If a fixed term tenancy there is no notice period.

Watch for agents and others being caught out from now with the new notice periods too.
