When Corporations Buy Water Utilities

#Post
1

From Stuff
"...Wellington City Council should transfer ownership of its $3.86 billion worth of pipes to Wellington Water, which would independently charge residents for water."
"Political pressure to keep rates low had led to a culture where Wellington Water attempted to prioritise crucial repairs within a given budget, rather than setting the budget based on the amount of work needed."

Auckland was the first, now we hear of Wellington.....will the rest of NZ follow....not rural.......town folks will just have to pay more....

Is owned by 6 councils so replicates a service previously provided by them but dodges responsibility for increased rates?.
