Is this sufficient for YouTube 1080P@60FPS?

Hi all, I want to buy a PC for watching YouTube and general browsing stuff.

I only have a 1080P monitor so was wondering if this comp would be good enough for watching 1080P@60FPS? Thanks

What inputs does your monitor have as this doesn't have HDMI, only DVI & VGA

That CPU is 8 years old. So I wouldn't expect the rest of it to be much newer.
It probably can, if it performs like new. I doubt that it does though.

With an on board graphics you need to look at the graphic engine for video decode - that CPU uses the "Intel HD Graphics 2500" - that will decode h264 encoded videos - but as mentioned before you really want an HDMI port. You can add a PCIe video card like the GT1030 and that will decode all the way to 4k h265 without probs.

You want one with HDMI, or Displayport (with a Displayport to HDMI adapter)

I have a DVI to HDMI cable. That would still work right?

Should do easily. We have a Dell with a Celeron from 2014 and it does 1080p at 60 FPS no problem. It has Linux on it, but the Windows users say that Windows is just as good.

I did have an issue with a raised noise floor from the on board audio when it wasn't actually playing some audio for some reason (have it hooked up to the hi-fi) so I used an old M-Box 2 audio interface instead.

It will be fine with a basic HDMI addon card.
It's pretty much exactly what we have been using for the last 2 years without any issues.
We stream everything now/ Youtube/ Plex/ Tv ondemand// Lightbox & a few others without any hassles.

On a side note, VGA will do up to 1920 x 1200 resolution on specific monitors, I know because I have had a few of those monitors through my business.
Probably more important would be the speed & reliability of your internet?

I've got two Dell machines with Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU G1610 @ 2.60GHz

They will easily do 1080p at 60 FPS with the built in graphics. They have display port and VGA too.

They are lightning fast with Linux, and Windows advocates say that Windows is better, so it should be even faster with Windows on it.

That CPU is considerably faster so it should run really really fast, like instant.
