I'm sick of Firefox crashing and am about to try another browser (unless Mozilla get their act together in the next few days). I already have Microsoft Edge installed which came with Windows 10. Have also heard Chrome recommended. Which is better?

I have both installed and use both at different times. Of the two I personally prefer Google Chrome

Chrome does seem to have very big support for many extensions, (which can add much functionality).

Edge can load about all of chromes extensions.

Edge is a better browser in my opinion. It's weird to be saying it but the MS browser is more trustworthy and far less invasive (these days). Chrome without all the sticky google. It's Chromium properly integrated, best of both worlds.

I am not having any issues with Firefox, so perhaps troubleshooting? Disable the addons for instance?

I dunno about that, Microsoft is getting just as much telemetry through and I'd trust them exactly as much as I'd trust Google (which is to say not at all)

I have no issues with FF either. I update as it requests. If my laptop slows down/acts a bit wierd, it's either time for an update, or to run CCleaner.

I use ccleaner and it doesn't help. I have been using Edge today with no crashes.
The only problem with Edge is when signing out of Gmail. I get an error message saying "your account is temporarily unavailable" but the error message has a link to sign out which solves the problem. Probably just the fact that Microsoft doesn't like Google.

We are talking about browsers, not the os. Much of chromes telemetry can't be disabled without major hoop jumping and gotchas, all of edges can and the controls to do so are right at the surface.
