Do corner toilets not exist in NZ any more?

#Post

I went googling, and there were a few overseas, but none to be found anywhere in NZ, nor on any of the main plumbing retailer sites. What gives?

Luteba I've never heard of corner toilets before!
Just goggled and what a great idea especially for small bathrooms.

Yep, when I was younger there were lots of corner toilets, very handy when staggering back from the pub. Phone booths were also commonly used, sadly. Both seem to have vanished in recent years.

Sparky lol think you are meaning a different type of corner toilet to Luteba.
Did the ones that were around when you were younger look like this? https://www.signaturehardware.com/regent-dual-flush-corner-t

Didn't think you were THAT old Sparky ha ha
I honestly didn't even know there was such a thing as a corner toilet only corner basins and vanities.

@shelleigh Exactly! Really handy for this sort of layout:

Never heard of a corner toilet before but it's exactly what we need to fit a small hand basin into a toilet room that currently has no basin (next to the bathroom but yuck).

These look useful. Don't think I've seen one except maybe in a railcar.

Could you fit a cistern flush to a wall, with the toilet angled as desired, or fit a basin above the cistern? Might not work for kids, though.

There are toilets with handbasin built in to the top of the cistern, used in small apartments to save space.

Would be perfect Luteba.
Be interesting to see if you can get one in NZ.

I've seen those, great idea and you can even save time by washing your hands whilst you pee.

There was one at my friends house which when you flushed, the water to fill the cistern came out of a spout into a small sink above the cistern and you used that to wash your hands and then the water filled up the cistern.

For the drunks near our local shopping centre, every corner is a corner toilet.

Some of us need both hands.

Your habit of drunkenly peeing in the basin will be even more convenient.
