Fencing to a crosslease neighbour

| The fencing act is pretty clear about new fences and sharing the cost, but what happens if the neighbouring site is a cross-lease with several owners? masturbidder - 2020-12-01 09:15:00 |
| What do you mean "the next door one?" sparkychap - 2020-12-01 09:18:00 |
| Essentially they are all equally liable for their share of the fence. sparkychap - 2020-12-01 09:21:00 |
| All shared. Or your cost if the fence is ok and you want a better looking one. Just pay yourself and be done. $2k do it . msigg - 2020-12-01 09:33:00 |

| When Insurance paid out for fences here after the earthquakes ( Christchurch) I got paid a share of boundary fences where they are shared.I have one that is not shared by any others on the crosslease ( 3 houses on crosslease in total) so was paid in full for that one. Other side boundary paid half as shared with 1 neighbour only and rear fence is boundary fence length of 1 back property but also shared by 2 in front of it so payment was divided accordingly. ( all properties insured with diff companies) Edited by kiwicarol at 1:25 pm, Tue 1 Dec kiwicarol - 2020-12-01 13:24:00 |
| This cross-lease has 5 houses, with one adjoining my place. Normally the cost would be 50/50 but if this is 50 + (10+10+10+10=10) claiming it is not worth the hassle. masturbidder - 2020-12-01 22:11:00 |
