Transmitting wireless signal from farmhouse to....

#Post
1

Here on the farm where my pal works he wants an internet connection maybe 150 m from the main house and up a hill. I have seen what I think I called AirFi trade name, and that's the trade name of wifi Extenders which are circular about 8 or 10 inches round and have a range of transmission's I from maybe anything up to and over 300 m however another Pal has a wireless signal transmitting down to a neighbor's house in the valley maybe half a kilometre from him and he has a little box with a with a blue LED that flashes on it maybe it has an aerial too. Can anyone give advice is to what is the slowest cost in most efficient to use here:?

and away you go. They are the same as a big long hunk of Cat6.

setup is rather straight forward but you do need line of sight for best performance

Vodafone used to do an extender for rural users. It would boost the mobiles signal through your house broadband.
