Hamilton water

What is Hamilton town water like now?
I understand the water is from a number of different sources to different parts of the town.
Was it necessary to install a house water filter etc?

yes, its still foul, everyone I know has good quality water filtration or reverse osmosis systems. You would spew if you saw the filters on change.

university people drink out of toilets, who would want to know them, want to see a filter cartridge , pretty rank.

Well our water is just fine in St Andrews, filter or non-filter. There are definitely worse water supplies around NZ.

Hamilton comes in at "A / Aa & Au" depending on specific location
So pretty good in general

The chlorine must be doing a remarkable job of improving water quality considering places like the central waikato, manawatu and southland are sort of nz hot spots for E. coli.

Hamilton water comes out of the river, after it's flowed hundreds of k's through thermal power stations that dump all their poisons like arsenic and mercury, endless dairy farms, and then towns that tip their half treated sewage in it..
And then Hamilton makes "Waikato"beer out of it...

Really? I have various friends in Hamilton. There are no issues with water and none have filters.

See website:

All of Hamilton's water supply comes from the Waikato River. Hamilton's water treatment, distribution, and management systems ensure that when water reaches consumers, it is free from harmful organisms and meets water supply standards.

Hamilton’s reticulated water supply system consists of one water treatment plant that provides potable water to eight different reservoirs located around the city through over 1000km of piping. The reticulated (piped) network delivers the water straight to the taps of consumers.

No filters on the house we had in Frankton.
Just sold earlier this year.

There's definitely something funny in the water, probably what causes Hamiltonians to think its a nice place to live.

m16d you are years out of touch on this subject
Waikato Beer has been made in Auckland for over 30 years now.It is purely Lion Draught with Malt extract added.

We use a filter jug for drinking water, or boil it.
