Headset Repairs - Is It Possible?

#Post
1

Basically, I have a Razer headset that was used on my PC for gaming and the cord was left dangling and our new wee puppy has chewed off the 3.5mm jack. Other than this the headset worked well. Is it possible or economical to repair this?

Of course. DIY. A full of insulating tape, and some patience stripping wires and reconnecting them maybe a bit of soldering.

If it is chewed close to the plug it is best to buy a new plug. $1.70 and get it soldered. eg https://www.jaycar.co.nz/3-5mm-stereo-plug/p/PP0130

It is chewed right next to the plug, walked into the room with the dog with the right angle 3.5mm plug in her mouth. I am not comfortable with doing this myself, but do have a friend who may be able to help me with it. Thanks.

Bring it over, we can solder the new plug on. Min workshop fee incl assessment, bookin-in and job done will be $99. Or we could sell you a new headset for $12.95. Whatever you like.

You can sell me a new Razer Kraken gaming headset for $12.95? Sounds pretty good!
