1 | Help please, Not only very Stretchy Material but pretty open weave material. Had enough 'problems' cutting it, in the end I had to put paper between the fabric And would like to know hints for now sewing this. Is there anything I can place or put on seam when sewing so I don't get any more stretch or other issues. Semi novice sewer have stretch needle for the machine But any handy hints would be great Thanks anne1955 - 2020-11-11 11:50:00 |
2 | You can sew it with the paper still in place and with a smaller, slightly zigzag stitch, which will still allow a bit of give, and rip the paper off afterwards, if its on a seam where you dont want any more stretch, such as shoulders, you could use narrow ribbon sewn on the seam line. articferrit - 2020-11-11 20:19:00 |
3 | If you can get hold of one, a walking foot is excellent. It lifts as you sew rather than dragging along. I use it when quilting, sewing very stretchy fabric etc. The only disadvantage is they are expensive. I wouldn't be without mine. mak47 - 2020-11-12 15:51:00 |
4 | There is a product that stabilises seams. You may have to get it from overseas, but it makes sewing these fabrics so much easier. It is a transparent tape used in commercial sewing rooms and works really well on modern fabrics, and survives laundering! No idea what the name is but I'm sure a bit of googling will find it... oh_hunnihunni - 2020-11-12 16:35:00 |
