would an email from google be true or a scam ? its saying someone knows my password & i should change it .

Maybe, maybe not. Probably a scam.

As with any email, never click the links. Log into your Google account via your browser and change your password that way.

It's probably just reporting a new device using your account. ie you've used a new phone, tablet , or a new browser to check your gmail.

I have never had email from Google like that.

Google do this if they detect problems.

Simple solution though is to change your password, just in case, but do so from logging in to the account via your browser/gmail etc not from an email link...

I recieved the same one just the other day and I don't have a google account, well not to the best of my knowledge. Number one son I think had a g-mail address a few years back but not sure if he still has it. Thanks for the advice guys, will look into it safely now as I was just ignoring it.
