Just wondering if I should have a go, and what I would need to make one.

I had a wall unit down the middle of a large bedroom with hard board blocking half the cubicles on each side.. Two kids on one side and 1the other and it worked well for 10 or more years. Was attached to the ceiling so it never fell over during a fight...lol
ETA had a curtain rail and curtain first but lack of storage space and nonsense with the curtain meant it didnt work.
