Please could someone supply me with the recipe, above, as I do not have any Edmonds books, to look it up. Many thanks.

Ice Cream Pudding (Edmonds book)

2 oz butter
2 oz sugar
1 oz flour
1 egg
1 pint milk
vanilla essence

Cream butter and sugar, add flour, gradually add beaten egg.
Pour on the hot milk and return to the saucepan.
Bring to the boil and cook 5 minutes, stirring all the time.
Add vanilla.
Serve cold.

Hopefully you can find conversion from pints to litres & ounces to grams by googling.

Later book has 50g as 2oz, 25g for 1oz, 600ml for the pint.
(LEtitia timed it perfectly, I had just found the recipe and hit refresh) lol

When I was a child this was my second favourite pudding (first choice was Lemon Delicious, but my mother only made it for special occasions because it produced too many dirty dishes). It now sounds so dull and bland that I can't think what the attraction was.
