| Sorry to be pedantic (lol) but Joseph was christened (not born) on 27 Sept 1822 h28skipper - 2020-01-04 09:24:00 |
| I am wondering if this is Joseph with his mother in 1841 in Leighton. James may be his brother. In the 1851 census I found James with his wife Rebeckah and daughter Elizabeth. In this transcription it states Elizabeth is 0yrs but the original states 2 months. Elizabeth at age 65 would have been 50 when she had Joseph though? That's if she is his mother. h28skipper - 2020-01-04 11:01:00 |

I am interested in the Elizabeth Cook 0 1841. I have a brick wall at this name as my great grandmother. All I know is that she was born in this decade, and was in New Zealand by the mid 1870s. I am looking at anyone with this name. It is thought that she was Irish, so I wonder if this family could have gone to Cheshire from Ireland? Or migrated to New Zealand? I am aware that I know virtually nothing about her except odd details. She had red hair, she was Catholic, she was 'well brought up' (= had been in the upper part of society - whether by position or service is unknown), and she said she came from the Bog of Allen. Flimsy material, but I must hit on the 'right' Elizabeth Cook one day. Her ancestors will fit my DNA eventually. Here's hoping my Mitochondrial test will answer some questions. blackhalls - 2020-01-04 14:10:00 |
| I have an Elizabeth Cook I'm researching also - must be the most common name in Britain! Mine was born in Hammersmith, Middlesex in 1776 and is listed in a census with her brother Robert and it is proving difficult to find their birth parents. There are possibilities but nothing that shows both. meetee - 2020-02-10 18:38:00 |
| Hallelujah! I just realised that the birth record that hymac kindly looked up for me on Find my Past months ago has the same parents for Robert as one I recently found for Elizabeth! Thank you hymac! meetee - 2020-02-10 18:45:00 |
