1 | I want to make my vegetarian 17 year old granddaughter a cheesecake for her birthday with no gelatine in the recipe . Does anyone have a good recipe for a Mars bar or some sort of caramel cheesecake without gelatine please? just4jess - 2019-12-12 20:22:00 |
2 | You can buy vegtearian gelatine. nanny9 - 2019-12-12 21:03:00 |
3 | I grew up with this cheesecake. You need to let it set for 24 hours but can be eaten earlier. It is soft set as there is no gelatin in it. You can top it with berries or passionfruit. The lemon is what sets the cheesecake. Cheesecake – Chilled 250 g of arrowroot biscuit or similar Crust Crush biscuits in a food processor and crush till they are fine. Melt butter and add to the biscuits. Process till well blended. Press the mixture into a flan tin and chill while preparing the filling. Filling In the food processor or with a beater, beat cream cheese till really soft. Add condensed milk and process again till the cream cheese and milk is well blended. Add lemon juice and process till well mixed. Pour into the prepared case and chill for 12 - 24 hours marcs - 2019-12-12 22:22:00 |
4 | If she does not want gelatine she is vegan. Therefore last recipe not suitable. lilyfield - 2019-12-13 08:45:00 |

Plenty of vegetarians don't eat gelatine. Doesn't make them vegan. blands70 - 2019-12-13 10:33:00 |
6 | I don't have a recommended recipe - but I wouldn't have thought gelatine is a very common ingredient in cheesecake? None of the recipes I've used and/or seen have gelatine in them. blands70 - 2019-12-13 10:35:00 |

9 | My daughter is vegetarian and doesn't have anything with gelatine. I've made a few very nice cheesecakes, just googled them. gshj - 2019-12-13 14:59:00 |

blands70, whereas baked cheesecakes usually have eggs in them, lots of unbaked cheesecakes have gelatine in them to make them set - it is a very common ingredient. In fact, I can't think of an unbaked cheesecake that I have made over many many years that has not had gelatine in it as the setting agent. :-)) 245sam - 2019-12-15 21:59:00 |
12 | This is the same recipe as I have posted above. I think the other recipe came from the highlander condensed milk tin. https://www.womensweeklyfood.com.au/recipes/classic-lemon-ch marcs - 2019-12-15 23:48:00 |

I agree, I've made that one a few times before, and will certainly do so again. Granddaughter wanted some sort of caramel this time, so I ended up putting chopped up mars bars in the lemon cheesecake recipe. Worked out great! just4jess - 2019-12-16 08:49:00 |
16 | You could use the Whittaker's artisan caramelised white chocolate maybe, in the Chelsea winter recipe? And top with crumbled russian fudge or caramel sauce instead of berries? geomorphologist - 2019-12-16 09:14:00 |
