Alison Holst Xmas cake recipe

| 1 | Peter's 5 egg Xmas cake - which was recommended on a previous thread -have just made this today but noticed there was no baking powder or b/soda and am now wondering if this is right. Has anyone made this recipe and have it turn out ok without those 2 ingredients as I've checked other xmas cake recipes and they all included one or the other or both. | 9 | I have been tempted to make this cake for several years, but I usually bake Alison's easy mix rum and raisin one instead because I know that the blokes I bake for really like it.
