| I have an old Electric Ultimate frypan with a pinkish lid that has recently died after 42 years of use. I only use it now for pikelets. I bought a Russell Hobbs very smart square non stick sandwich press to replace it for pikelet making. Salesperson said yes good for pikelets. Its hopeless. We have a gas cooktop. Can anyone please suggest a replacement appliance or griddle for making pikelets please that I can buy. Briscoes is having another big sale on Friday denzie - 2019-11-25 07:41:00 |
| How about an electric frypan? lythande1 - 2019-11-25 07:54:00 |
| I know what you mean about using a sandwich press for pikelets. Didn't work for me either. Maybe another well worn electric frypan from an op shop for around $15? I now just use an old heavy once-nonstick 30cm frying pan on my gas hob- works perfectly on a low heat. kaddiew - 2019-11-25 08:01:00 |
| Just use the cast iron frying pan on the gas , the one you make pancakes in toyboy3 - 2019-11-25 08:10:00 |

I bought an electric skillet on sale at Briscoes recently which I love. Much more convenient size than my bigger pan which has now been donated to my flatting GDaughter. I find it great for making pancakes, pikelets and griddle scones. Edited by nauru at 9:26 pm, Mon 25 Nov nauru - 2019-11-25 21:25:00 |
| Thankyou all for the suggestions. I'll take a peek at the electric skillet at Briscoes. Your comments and advice appreciated denzie - 2019-11-26 13:47:00 |
| I use an electric pancake maker. A good size to get about 4 pikelets done at one time. I just use a little butter to grease. Works really well. lynja - 2019-11-27 06:41:00 |
