Freezing cream

#Post

Can you put a bottle of cream in the freezer. Also do you need to whip it when thawed or can you just use as normal. Thanks

It will expand when frozen.

not a glass bottle though, it might crack. Cream freezes very well.

Cream freezes well, but it doesn't whip as well as fresh cream once it has been frozen
If you're intending to use it as dollops of whipped cream, though, whip it and freeze dollops or piped rounds on a tray on a silicone mat or baking paper. Once they're frozen, put them in a bag and seal.
You can then take out just what you need - each dollop thaws quite quickly.

I freeze milk and cream in glass bottles, just leave the top off to allow for expansion.
