Another one: Thomas Royle Kay 1886-1916

#Post

We have researched extensively but still have some gaps . Wondered if anyone could help.

Thomas Royle Kay was born in 1886 in London
Mother: Annie Kay (left England alone and started a new live in Australia & then NZ)
Father: Unknown

1887- Christened in Church Hulme, Cheshire (mother's home town)
1891 - he is living with another family - surname Antrobus

1901 - possible ER working as a servant - but can't confirm this is the right Thomas Kay.

1908 Fathers a child - unmarried - with Elizabeth Hodson
1908 Thomas Hodson Kay is born

Lost sight of him until the army enlistment and his death in 1916 in France.

When he died - 14 July 1916, Flanders, france,
his soldiers belongings went to a George Perrott, a bargeman.
George Perrott is recorded on that record as being 'brother-in-law'

does brother-n-law mean Thomas had a sister married to a Perrot?
if so, we can't find her.

Neither Thomas Royle Kay or his son Thomas Hodson Kay were on any census with the Perrotts and I can't find a possible sister.

We do know of a canal boat connection with his son Thomas Hodson Kay.

Through my other post, I have been trying to trace the whereabouts of Thomas Hodson Kay from birth to marriage.

What we do have for certain is a DNA link through my mother's side to both of these Thomas Kays.

Any leads or ideas gratefully received. Thank you.

I found this record for a war pension to be paid to Mrs Elizabeth Barlow, Unmarried wife, living at 20 Pryme Street, Hulme. I've seen the original document and it has the correct regiment number for Thomas Kay - 21340.

Maybe George Perrot is connected to the Barlow family.

Name: Mrs Elizabeth Barlow

Try searching Kaye as a surname too, not unheard of that it gets muddled in documentation. We have Kaye's in our family.
