Sultana cake recipe please

#Post

I have lost my favourite recipe for a light sultana cake.
It had 1 cup of made up custard in it, and possibly no eggs?

Can anyone help?

I sort of remember one with a custard made with cornflour, it rings a bell, but where it is, is the burning question. I do have a good recipe, if you want that give us a yell.

Custard Fruit Cake

250 grms butter
250 grms white sugar
3 eggs
1 dessertspoon of custard powder
315grms plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp lemon essence
1 tsp sherry
1 tsp mixed spice
Cream butter and sugar and add eggs one at a time. Stir in flour, baking powder mixed fruit spice and essences and sherry.

****Combine custard powder with 3/4 cup boiling water mix and let to cool***
Add this to the mixture last. Prepare the baking tin with 3 layers of paper
I use 2 layers of newspaper and then finish with 1 layer of baking paper.

Bake in a moderate oven for 3/4 to one hour.

Is this the one. Was going through my recipes and found it. Have never made it but sounds yum
GLEN'S CUTTING CAKE ~ Mrs Glen Rowling, Nelson
2 Tablespoons custard powder
450 gms sultanas
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold water
225 gms butter
1/2 teaspoon of 4 different essences (e.g. lemon, orange, vanilla, rum)
Boil custard powder and water, stirring all the time until thick, then cool
Prepare sultanas (I think it means add a little flour from the measured amount to stop the fruit from sinking)
Cream butter and sugar and essences, then add eggs one at a time, beating well between additions
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt and coat the cleaned sultanas with part of this
Add remaining flour alternately with cold custard powder mix to the creamed ingredients
Stir into floured fruit
Turn into an 8 inch square lined with greaseproof paper (2 layers)
Bake at 160*C for 1 & 1/2 hours until a skewer in the middle comes out clean
I have found everyone likes this cake - young and old
