But I’ve got some asparagus and smoked salmon for dinner tonight - does anyone have any tips or an easy recipe?

Jo Seagar has an easy recipe for Hollandaise sauce (I think she calls it 'cheats' hollandaise) & I've searched for ages & can't find it ...it wouldn't satisfy the purists but would be good for what you are wanting.
Would you believe it, I have the recipe after a bit of searching via google & it's in one of the couple of Jo's books that I have.
It's probably too late now, but here goes...
Food processor Hollandaise sauce
4 egg yolks
2 tabs lemon juice
salt & freshly ground pepper to taste
1 tab white wine vinegar
200gms hot melted butter, plus 100gms extremely soft, just barely melted) butter.
Place yolks in blender/food processor run to mix, slowly add lemon juice, white wine vinegar, s & p. The yolks should be light, pale & & creamy. slowly drizzle in the melted butter then mix in the the barely melted butter - season to taste with s & p.

As I said it's not 'classic' ..but hope that helps ;o)

What I meant was I’m only making a small quantity for me so the food processor probably won’t be an option - I used my stick whisk and Ina Garten’s recipe and it was delicious with my roast asparagus and smoked salmon - there’s enough left over for breakfast tomorrow too

That's good, pleased that you enjoyed it ...you didn't say you had a stick whisk.
Maybe you'd like to share Ina's recipe?
