| Do I need to add more or less butter? The base is just flour, BP, Brown sugar, coconut and melted butter lynard3 - 2019-10-28 11:42:00 |
| lynard3, IMO it would be easier to advise if the actual quantities for your recipe were known, so can you please share the recipe. :-)) 245sam - 2019-10-28 13:25:00 |
| Hi, I’m wondering if the tin size you’re using is slightly larger than ideal. (I’m assuming it’s a slice recipe). Are you spreading your mix maybe too thinly, whilst baking for required time? Perhaps your oven bakes slightly hot? I’d be cautious re adding more butter. Maybe reduce cooking time next time. Good luck. strowan1 - 2019-10-28 13:26:00 |
| I'd say reduce the cooking time slightly. nauru - 2019-10-28 13:44:00 |
| It also depends if its supposed to be like that, ie ginger crunch or coconut ice cake as compared to a slice with a 'cake' type of base, and what goes on top of it. articferrit - 2019-10-28 14:05:00 |

| Hi all, I just called it a biscuit base, maybe it's not but the base of the slice is what I'm referring to, yes I will cook it for less time next time, I've made this plenty of times before and not had this problem before but I haven't made it in a few years so not sure what I've done differently this time, the recipe is : lynard3 - 2019-10-28 15:10:00 |
