| My grandmother, I have no birth or death dates for her and wondered if someone could have a look for me. I believe she was born in Scotland. truckie6 - 2019-10-11 18:27:00 |
| Can you give us some idea as to dates and where did she die,was Aikenhead her maiden or married name? Edited by carbs51 at 6:55 pm, Fri 11 Oct carbs51 - 2019-10-11 18:54:00 |
| She emigrated to New Zealand, I'm not sure when, died here around 1910 but again I'm not sure, Aikenhead was her maiden name, her married name was McQuay, husband was Samuel McQuay. There was little talk about the paternal line growing up and didn't think to ask, I've only just learnt that she was actually born in Scotland and not New Zealand. truckie6 - 2019-10-11 20:38:00 |

| Thank you so much for all this information and your time in finding it, it is all helping me build a picture of a family I really know little about. They certainly moved around a fair bit but Granpa McQuay was a bit of a rascal to say the least and I don't think Marion's life was easy. truckie6 - 2019-10-12 09:24:00 |
| Yes, Samuel seems to have been a rascal. His name appears many times in paperspast, often in front of a judge lol. h28skipper - 2019-10-12 09:42:00 |
