This is the NZ Women's Weekly recipe - and easy enough for kids to make, too

JUMBLES

Ingredients
125 g Butter
¾ cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 teasp Baking powder
2 cups Flour
½ cup Candy coated chocolate sweets (eg M & Ms)
½ cup Blanched peanuts, lightly toasted
½ cup Chocolate bits or raisins

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 180C. Beat butter and sugar until pale and creamy, add egg and mix well.
2. Add sifted flour, baking powder, sweets, peanuts and chocolate bits. Roll teaspoonful balls of dough and place on a cool tray, flatten a little with a fork dusted in flour. Bake for 15 minutes until golden.
3. Allow jumbles to cool on a rack and then store in an airtight container.

Well you learn something every day, so 'they' say.
I have never heard of Jumbles, not saying that I'll rush to make them though, but I imagine kids would love them as a treat.

This is a recipe which was regularly made by my Mother 50 odd years ago. I also make it for the great grandchildren.
