Facial recognition technology question

1 | Dose this relay back to some computer database to be analysed, i have no criminal record and dont like it one bit!!!!! a camera mounted outside a dairy complex type place under the sheltered part flashed at me for no reason, the flash was fairly obvious and it was a grey line through the middle of the camera, wondering if it is one of them, and what kind of computer database it might relay back to. gunna-1 - 2019-09-11 22:56:00 |
2 | Something like this will be setup by law enforcement agencies as they tend to have cameras setup in major cities. It was trialled in London recently and proved to be a failure (for now), too inaccurate. These agencies also have access to photo ID databases, criminal records (photo's) etc and the large server farms to process the recognition software in realtime. 3 | Maybe the camera took a still shot in better quality than the video does. event_horizon_1 - 2019-09-11 23:15:00 |
4 | What a bloody nightmare, thanks for the info, i think i will stay inside!!!. gunna-1 - 2019-09-11 23:25:00 |

8 | You're the one spouting the dribble. The idea of real time facial recognition (outside a dairy in NZ) is a fantasy in your own mind. spyware - 2019-09-12 08:48:00 |
9 | Person of Interest...I loved that program. Didn't last long. Too close to the bone. The masses are to be kept in the dark and feed B/S and fake news. fruitbat - 2019-09-12 08:54:00 |

25 | Funny we travel through immigration gates at every international airport and have our face digitally scanned, recorded and assessed versus our passport digital face (and in the USA finger prints as well), but a camera outside a dairy takes your picture and the world ends. Somehow I think we are way past the worry that big brother is watching. They are. Of more concern is the Chinese experiment with Social Credit scores. How long before that trip to the dairy is recorded and if you buy a meat pie, it is recorded negatively against your social credit account. Loose enough points and the state will come down hard on you. Worth a read. Right up the Greens/Labour alley. Social control. Edited by grb235 at 8:11 am, Fri 13 Sep grb235 - 2019-09-13 08:09:00 |
26 | Yea well the nats wernt much better when it comes to china, i wouldent be surprised if both parties let social creddit stuff slip through the gate, but the airport is one thing and your local dairy is another, if they are going to start rubbish like this, people will end up getting arrested over nothing, look at the police in america and to a lesser extent brittian, they are out of controll, gunna-1 - 2019-09-13 08:39:00 |
27 | Ha ha what a joke that social creddit stuff is, we need a might smaller party to fight this, and hold the big players to account. gunna-1 - 2019-09-13 08:52:00 |
28 | gunna-1 wrote:
The whole point of China keeping social credit scores is not to punish by arrest and incarceration, but by restricting your societal privileges. Hence the camera at the dairy plus the transaction details recorded against your identity. If meat pies are on the "bad" list, instant demerit points. Hence the drive to do away with cash (and the need to fight cashless societies), every transaction has to be recorded. Cameras at the dairy are not just there to record your visit and purchases, but also to see if the pie wrapper gets put in the pin properly and you use the designated pedestrian crossing to cross the street. And no I don't trust any politician be they right or left, though I suspect comrade Ardern and the Greens are more likely to introduce social credit scores. Greens would love to be able to demerit anyone who uses an ICE car or uses any car when public transport could have been taken. grb235 - 2019-09-13 08:57:00 |
29 | gunna-1 wrote:
What makes you think small political parties will be allowed under comrade Ardern and the Greens regime. Instant demerit points even being seen at a political party meeting not approved by the state. One solution is Hong Kong style anti state rebellion. Another is passive rebellion like anti facial recognition make up and glasses. Plus cash off course. grb235 - 2019-09-13 09:04:00 |

Because the majority of people don't care, we use facial recognition on phones to access them, face swap and ageing apps that send info to servers around the world, Facebook and google have way more info about people than the government. loud_37 - 2019-09-13 18:10:00 |
35 | Yeah, wouldn't it be horrible if the police used facial recognition to identify criminals and keep us all safer. Sounds horrible. videomonkey - 2019-09-13 18:13:00 |

37 | Back in the day, the cops had "facial recognition". They knew all the local crims by name... People liked it that way. Apart from the crims, ianab - 2019-09-13 18:43:00 |
38 | Yea more like folks they didnt like, and "teaching lessons" on behalf of other people, looking like a crim ect, by the way havent they got a backlog of actual burglerys to solve instead of harassing people. gunna-1 - 2019-09-13 18:50:00 |

You have to watch out for those rouge cops, the ones wearing lippy and mascara are even worse. I'd watch your step if I were you, especially outside a dairy, those pavers can get pretty slippery especially after all this rain we've had. ronaldo8 - 2019-09-14 08:28:00 |
44 | spyware wrote: Ha i was, they ventured i suspect out of the less desirable part of this town and stuck there nose in where it didnt belong, there was no police record of the stop, so doubt they were real police to begin with, and when a real cop did turn up he stood infront of them with a smug grin on his face, me thinks there was some corruption going on, the only thing a formal complaint reviled was that i am not a person of interest, there is no police record of me, and there is no record of any such stop takeing place at that time.
