When at the web page linked in post No. 1, click on the "Research" link at the upper right to see the other genealogy goodies that are available.

Apparently the old wills are slowly being digitised and a fair number in the indexes have already been done. The earliest dates seem to be around 1440.

My ancestors' parish, Milton-next-Gravesend (sometimes shown as St Peter & St Paul, Milton-next-Gravesend), isn't listed - second line, post No. 2 above. Does anyone know the whereabouts of the records for that parish?

In the 1980s someone sent me a transcription that was done about 1912 of an ancestral tomb that has apparently since been demolished and was in the churchyard, but didn't include the details of the book it was in. I have Googled parts of the wording in the transcript and didn't have any luck.

wonderful thanks, must see if my Gt Uncle is listed, now he was in WW1 Canadian Infantry but from Gillingham. Kent... buried there as died of blood poisoning after being shot in the leg. he had two burials! first one was made into a sportsfield but body kept there, headstone taken to the newer cemetery! why not rebury him, he wasn't the only one buried in the original cemetery....
