Necropolis Cemetery Scotland

advice please,

Can someone put in the right direction to contact the Necropolis Cemetery in Glasgow, Scotland, Please.
Would that be the best way to confirm a death?
I know my G.G.Grandfather died Feb.1837 and is buried in the Delta 52 part of the cemetery, but I would give my eye teeth to locate a death certificate, if at all possible!
I have his will, but would love more confirmation.
I have a feeling he died too early for there to be any concrete records??

Civil records began in 1855 in Scotland so there won't be a government "certificate" of death for 1837.
But there should be a record somewhere, either a church, cemetery or newspaper item.
The first place I would look is:
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

Search the index first. You may need to register (free).

If you find a likely record you will need to buy some credits (modest cost) so you can see the image of the record.

Doubtless there is information here:
https://www.gwsfhs.org.uk/content/glasgownecropolisproject.a
spx

But they seem a bit canny about releasing information. Relies on surviving monuments and not the burial records.

My great uncle John died as an infant in 1893 and is buried in the Eastern Necropolis in Glasgow. Unfortunately the records aren't digitised or searchable on-line. I had to go to the Mitchell Library in Glasgow to go through the registers to find the details.

I have used the service and was very pleased, he sent 3 very high quality photos and also looked at the lair records and let me know who else was buried there even though they were not mentioned on the stone
