You could do that if you want to, do you mean your food all cooked and ready to eat?

If the food is all cooked, I would strain the whole thing through a colander into a large pan and reduce the liquid over high heat until it reaches a suitable consistency. Then add the food to the reduced liquid and combine gently before you serve it.

Just add flour and stir. Add more flour til you get the right consistency
