Thanks Stock, your help appreciated. These are my grandparents, but I always thought they lived on the farm. How do you match up the address with the name? do you check through Wises Directory first?
Thanks again, NAT

Papers Past is another possible option. But to add confusion in this case there was a sale of household furniture on the instructions of Jno Morton there in 1918.
Maybe Morton was to sell the property to the Barkers?

If you are trying to identify the property, be wary of street renaming / renumbering since 1920.
The 1920 Venus Street list starts at Oteramika Road (where on map now?), Centre Street crosses Venus between 59 & 69 and 54 & 68.
Last on the right is 121 and last on the left 102

Today Centre crosses at 99 & 101 and 92 & 108.
In 1920 Mr T A Barker was selling by auction his "splendid residence" on the corner of Venus & John Streets.

In 1930 Centre Street intersected Venus at (almost like today's numbering) 99 & 101 and 92 & 114.

Oteramika Road is now Tweed Street.
The houses probably had to be renumbered because of infill development. Venus Street was originally half acre sections but most of them were further subdivided in the early 20th century.
