Baking a Cake in a Loaf Pan

#Post
1

I am planning to bake a coffee cake today but the only baking pan I can find after a recent move is a large loaf pan - would this work and if so would I need to adjust the cooking time?
I have found my wooden cake box that I use for fruit cakes - would this be a better option?

You could easily use a loaf tin to make your cake, but the quantity of the mix might be too much for the tin, so don't over fill it, two loaf tins maybe? Maybe bake for 3/4hr, then test, top should be firm to touch, if still soft give it more time. But I'm just guessing times here. Good luck duck! :-)

Easy.
I would use one of those bamboo sticks (can't think what they are called) to check it is cooked (because it might be taller but narrower than a cake).
