I can see a birth record on Findmypast that isn't on Ancestry or Myheritage. I took out a free trial but only the starter one which I thought would show it but I couldn't access the record. Is there anyone on here who could help me, please? I just need the parents names to confirm a link - England, 1784 birth.
TIA.

I may as well post the details -
Robert Cooke, born Chiswick, Middlesex, England in 1784. He shows up in UK census results with his sister, Elizabeth Cooke, my 4 x great grandmother. I would like to confirm their parents names.

Thanks for that! Unfortunately it means I have to keep searching because they are different parents to the ones on the birth record I found for Elizabeth - they were John Henry and Ann Marie Cooke. Maybe there is another Robert Cook(e) born in Chiswick - the census indicated 1785. I feel that Elizabeth's parents could well be John Henry and Ann Marie because her son was called Thomas Henry, his father being Thomas Adamson. It makes searching difficult but also sometimes easier when children are named after parents.

Thanks hymac. I am thinking that that is the right birth record for Elizabeth but that is why I was trying to confirm it by finding Robert's parents. The census, 1851, Middlesex, they were both in listed as brother and sister says that Elizabeth was born in Hammersmith, Middlesex - so Westminster fits for baptism I think. Robert was listed as born in Jorkham Green (incorrect name - should be Turnham Green), Middlesex, another census says Chiswick.

Yes, thanks hymac, that is Elizabeth, my 4 x great grandmother. It is a shame that her parents weren't named in the record - some at least have the father's name. The Cooks and Cookes seem to be interchangeable in the families and even with the same person on different records. And even Elizabeth's parents (the ones I think are hers...) on one record it is Anna Maria and another Ann Marie. John Henry and Anna Maria also had a daughter Patience, born in 1781. I found a birth record for Anna Maria and her mother was called Patience so although I haven't confirmed it yet I have some trust in the names when they are passed down through generations. I am persevering with the tree because my nephew who had his DNA done is in contact with a fourth cousin who has Cook(e)s and Salters (another in our line) in her line and I'm trying to find the connection. Well, I think I have found it but want to confirm it. Thank you for your help - I do appreciate it!
