CHUTNEY TIME

| Decided I would make us some chutney, so got all my jars out of the pantry for sterilizing, then realized most of them have plastic lids, I can't sterilize these in the oven. So how do manufacturers sterilize their lids before they go out to the shops, I wonder????? westward1 - 2019-07-21 13:01:00 |
| I would soak them in a pot or container of boiling water...... petal1955 - 2019-07-21 13:30:00 |
| How come your jars have plastic lids, all my jars have metal lids with a thin rubber seal on the inside edge. rainrain1 - 2019-07-21 14:41:00 |

| I only use jars with plastic lids for chutneys because the vinegar will rot the metal lids. I wash them in my dishwasher (jars and lids) and nothing buckles. uli - 2019-07-21 17:14:00 |

| I put them in a big bowl and pour boil hot water from the kettle on them. If in a hurry I also sterilize jars this way too. marcs - 2019-07-21 18:54:00 |
