DIY creamed corn?

#Post

Has anyone tried making their own creamed corn, like the tinned variety?
Since having a heart attack recently, my partner is trying to find healthier options for the foods he likes. Tinned cream corn, such as Watties, has added sugar and salt. So he is wondering about making his own. I looked up recipes online but they all had added cream or milk or evaporated cream, which doesnt seem to match the ingredients list on the cans, so I'm not sure what Americans call cream corn is the same us us.
Do you just blend whole kernel corn in a blender until its the right balance of blended and whole bits or is there more to it than that?

I just blitz it with my hand blender until creamy, seems to work OK. I often use it to make chicken and sweetcorn soup, I don't like the canned corn so I use frozen when fresh not in season.

Yes, blitz part of the can and then mix back in with some whole kernels. Adjust to how chunky you want it.
