I dunno, maybe cos they are stupid ...mine tells me to 'enjoy my meal' when I've melted butter ...hellooo.
My washing machine beeps, my fridge & freezers beep, the dishwasher beeps & sometimes it makes me 'beeping' cross, because I don't know which one is beeping well beeping!

Modern day form of nagging. It has also caught on at self-service checkouts. They remind you to take your groceries. Like duh. Just as well the machines keep reminding me till the last item is removed or I'd forget why I was there.

I always just tell the machine to have patience and I will get the damn groceries. I know I should pack them in the bag, but whenever I have put the bag on the thing, it comes up with an unexpected item in bagging area and I no longer trust it (yes, I tell it I have my own bag, makes no odds for me).

Being half deaf, I go running around the house to figure out what is beeping. I do find the fridge one useful, but think the freezer should have it too, as that is more likely to be left open.

Personally I'd be lost if my microwave didn't beep. Having no sight at all, I wouldn't have a clue what it was doing if it didn't. I wish all appliances would give audible feedback of some kind.

Not only do I have appliances that beep...my parrot has learnt to mimic them...so one never knows if something is ready or not!

I actually cook in mine rather than just defrosting or reheating so it’s nice to know when my rice, pasta or chicken is ready. But it stops once the time is up - my oven keeps beeping until I turn it off and the dog barks at me when the oven beeps ????♀️

I deliberately sold a perfectly good microwave that nagged and demanded attention when it was finished and replaced it with one that simply let me know once when it was done and then shut up like a good appliance should.
