6 | I too prefer just bacon and eggs but will admit to putting peas in if I am making it a day ahead for a picnic. It does keep the pie more moist but definitely no other additives if has a top. cgvl - 2019-06-16 13:45:00 |

10 | I have a round low sided pizza pan or I use a sponge roll tin depends on numbers I'm making it for. cgvl - 2019-06-17 13:01:00 |
11 | Just made one for todays lunch. Not really authentic as I did the no-no thing and added chopped onion, peas and a little grated cheese. It was very nice too with a salad and some mustard pickle on the side. Homemade pastry of course. I think it's really a case of each to their own as we all do it differently depending on our tastes and what we have in stock. Edited by nauru at 3:27 pm, Mon 17 Jun nauru - 2019-06-17 15:26:00 |

13 | Read a great tip for keeping pastry from getting soggy.. sprinkle some grated cheese over base pastry then add eggs and bacon. Very fine sprinkling and it really does work. skydancing - 2019-06-18 20:47:00 |

I heat a flat baking tray in the oven and keep the pastry quite thin. No soggy bottoms and even better, no cheese. I always use a metal tin. eastie3 - 2019-06-20 16:43:00 |

17 | Vegetables or not, as long as it tastes good that is all that matters. People have different tastes so the cook makes what she/he wants and others can eat it---or not. kacy5 - 2019-07-05 13:44:00 |

and whole eggs at that(lightly pricked at the most), if i wanted an omelette in a pie, i would ask for one. Another of my pet hates, idiots who think serving me a whitebait omelette, is the same thing as the whitebait pattie i ordered. Edited by gpg58 at 3:16 pm, Fri 5 Jul gpg58 - 2019-07-05 15:07:00 |
