My Bamix stick blender has given up the ghost so need to replace it, what are some recommendations please?

I now have a Bodum which is a similar design to the Bamix as it has the 3 discs. Bought in Briscoes sale a while ago for less than half price $39, I'm happy with it as it performs well. Had a Bamix (initially bought on sale) years ago which was great but I couldn't justify the cost of another Bamix replacement when it died. I have also had a Goldair which was great and is still as good as new, I donated it to my Granddaughter when I got the Bodum.

Bamix are the best you can buy and do last a life time. I got mine fixed years back by this guy. Worth talking to him.
Don't buy anything with plastic around the mixer as in hot soups etc they just melt.

I have never had one melt, although I have seen the plastic slightly discoloured by tomatoes.

Like you, I don't think they melt. But I am not 100% convinced that plastics and hot food are not a great combination considering the potential for toxic leaching into food that is destined to be consumed.

mine melted putting it into hot soups etc. And you’re so right about the plastic leaching. These days l would have thrown the soup away!

I was given a barmix for mothers day this year. I love it. I have used others (including industrial one but can't afford it) and find barmix the best. It is one of the ones with a bit more grunt in it though.
