re Nicer Dicer Quick

Has anyone bought one of these?
Can you get it to work as shown in the demos?

Thought it a great idea. Then one day they were for sale in my local supermarket at a reasonable price, so snapped one up.
Am sure I'm not a little old lady but certainly can't get it to slice onions as quickly and easily as shown in the demo.

Comments appreciated.

I considered getting one, but then I thought you still have to cut up veges etc. to fit into the thing, so that cancels out any convenience as far as I'm concerned.

Of course not, this stuff is always shown to be better than they really are.
Just marketing and TV makes people buy.

So what did you find not acceptable?

After cutting vegetables to the right size to fit in it, why not continue to dicing?

A lot of these gadgets are designed for people who may not have the fine motor skills or coordination needed to cut food into small pieces, whether it be through age or disability. The gimmicky auto can and jar openers are a godsend for anyone with weak hands! I've been looking at getting one of these for her, to replace her mandolin-type thing, but it looks like this one requires a bit more strength than she's capable of.

I bought the original Nicer dicer Slicer from TV - the forerunner to the smaller one now advertised and I love it. Great quality. Easy to use. Yes you have to cut the veges to size but once you do that the rest is so quick and easy. Was also thinking about getting the new one as well. Easy to clean up in the dishwasher.

Yes, the original one was just great, but for one person I found it a lot of mucking around with big parts etc, this is why I thought the smaller Quick would be better for me.
In a nutshell I don't think I've got the strength to use it as it is demonstrated. But all good and nothing ventured nothing gained.
So it's back to chop, chop, choppity chop!!
