| I am hoping someone can help. I have tried to google but cannot find the recipe I am looking for. All of my cookery books are in storage and I cannot access. The recipe I am looking for is carrot and red lentil soup. There are other recipes online but not Alisons. It was one of the older Alison books. Thank you purdie69 - 2019-05-23 11:34:00 |
| I just googled it, carrot, red lentil and orange soup. I can copy it if you cant find it. articferrit - 2019-05-23 11:42:00 |
| The one I wanted does not have orange as an ingredient purdie69 - 2019-05-23 11:48:00 |
| its only 1/4 teaspoon grated orange rind (which is optional) articferrit - 2019-05-23 12:58:00 |

| I found this, but you'd have to guess the method: Red lentil, carrot and kumara soup from 100 Great Ways to Use Slow Cookers and Crockpots by Simon Holst and Alison Holst carrots This is why it's ingredients only: We’ve helped you locate this recipe but for the full instructions you need to go to its original source.** But, having found which book it's in, someone may be able to type out the method (sorry, I don't have that particular book) Edited by autumnwinds at 3:10 pm, Thu 23 May autumnwinds - 2019-05-23 15:08:00 |

| purdie69, I have most of Alison Holst's books, including her earliest/older books and I have a master index of most the recipes in those books but as yet it does not include all of the older ones, so do you have any idea of the name of the book that the recipe was in? :-)) 245sam - 2019-05-23 15:59:00 |

I have this book and she has a blurb at the start of the recipe that says this is the slow cooker version of one of my favourite soups so I am guessing this is the recipe you might be after. If is I am happy to type out the recipe for you 2spotties - 2019-05-23 20:10:00 |

| the one in her 'best of' book is called red lentil soup and is the one I said which has the optional orange rind. articferrit - 2019-05-24 13:21:00 |

purdie69 I have had another quick look and found the recipe with kumara in it, also a creamy lentil and vegetable soup, so could that be it or is/was it actually called Carrot and Red Lentil Soup?? 245sam - 2019-05-25 13:50:00 |
| One i make may help. Measure the lentils and 1 litre of hot tap water into a bowl to soften them. Melt the butter in a large pot, add chopped garlic, carrots, celery. Add spices, cook over moderate heat stiring occasionally for 2 – 3 min but don’t let the veg go brown. Add the lentils and hot water, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. fifie - 2019-05-26 11:05:00 |

| I don't know. I always think of her with gratitude when I make 4 different Christmas cake recipes she created each year. I have always appreciated how clear her and easy to follow her instructions are. calista - 2019-08-17 15:28:00 |
