Would anyone like to recommend a DNA testing site please? I am of predominantly British (European) ancestry so far as I know.

Ancestry is best one as it has the biggest database and you can download the results and put it on other sites.

Check what each has to offer as far as what they actually test. Then cost. I used FtDNA but have uploaded info to Gedmatch and MyHeritage.

I find the presentation by My Heritage the most user friendly.

I would do ancestry. They are expensive but they have a huge database. You cant upload another companys results to ancestry. If you test with ancestry though you can upload the results on other sites as already suggested.

I have 6 profiles under my management at FTDNA (Family Tree DNA). That company does Y-DNA for Males and mtDNA for females, along with atDNA (Family Finder) as all other sites only do.
