What is the Bactericidal Soln used by supermakets

Sorry, not really a recipe topic but there's not a food topic ......
I hate the way my local PnS delicatessen servers use the tongs dripping/pouring off onto the food. I gave up on S/M deli food the last time the server used the tongs out of the tray and this solution literally pouring over the food below. No shaking off or allowing to drain off to minimise the quantity now mixed in the food below,
I understand they need to do this for food regulations, but I don't like eating this.
I can ask the server to use a bag not tongs to pick up meat slices etc but as they used tongs for previous customer it has now dripped onto food to be served to me.

Most likely sodium metabisulphite, or Miltons.
If your baby can drink from a cleaned bottle or you can drink wine from bottles cleaned with the SM, then you are safe.

I am the same OP. There is a bit of a difference though betweem cleaning in the solution as opposed to having food dripping with the stuff. They are used to pick up different cuts of meat then placed over and over back into the same solution. And then re-dripped over. Yuck!
