Removing elements on benchtop oven

| 1 | Not strictly recipes but hey figured a few may have this oven! I put in the roasting dish not realising their was a plastic lid under it - until I smelt it burning :-( I have managed to remove most the plastic but does anyone know how to remove elements to remove some residue on the metal surrounding them? Or to remove this metal. I'm trying to scrape off but scared of breaking glass elements... Or is it safe to burn off thr little remaining plastic..
