Multi cookers

Can anyone give me a review of them

Can anyone give a review of which is the best brand and if they are worthwhile? I have heard that pressure/steam cooking gives you tender meat and is much quicker than other methods.
Anything for a simpler life at dinner time!

I have a Breviĺle multi cooker. Have only used the fast cooking part so far and find it brilliant for casserole/stews. I use the site function to cook onions, garlic, celery etc. then throw in the diced meat, potatoes, Kumar, carrots, stock and whatever other flavorings you like to add. I don't sure the meat. Turn it on and 40 minutes later the dinner is done and the meat is do tender. Use red Kumar as orange goes a bit mushy. It will cook chicken breasts in 5-6 minutes. My one doesn't do rice or pasta so I would look for one thst has this function.I joined a couple of Facebook groups for recipes as the manual only came with a few. I haven't used the slow cooker function yet but apparently you use less liquid if using an ordinary slow cooker recipe. Americsns call them instant pots and you csn find many instant pot recipes online. They sre grest for fast cooking when time is precious.

Thst should read saute function, not site. They are grest for curried and soup as well and I also make stock in them.

Thanks for the input.
Its seems they are worthwhile having. Also I am thinking there is no brand that outdoes another, so whatever I get will do the job well
Much appreciated.

I use mine all the time. I do not use the slow cook function as I find it too fast/hot. Pressure cook is fantastic.

I have a Breville Fast/Slow Cooker. AMAZING to be able to have beautifully tender meat in around 40 minutes. I also do large quantities of chickpeas for making humus, then freeze them in smaller quantities. I have used the slow function too for corned beef and that worked well. Certainly I would recommend.

Hi, I was looking at one of these today.
Did you have a slow cooker before purchasing this machine?
And why this machine over a Multi Cooker?
Please and thank you.

The Breville comes with a steamer basket. I haven't used that yet. I recently cooked rice in it and it was really good. I will now get rid of my rice cooker (which I have always been disappointed with as it sticks and also bubbles over even when using smallish quantities).
Sorry sooterkin I did not see your question, no my slow cooker lid had broken and I didnt consider a multi cooker. I don't know a lot about them, but guessing they have other functions.

I have a fab bench top cooker (looks like a fish bowl). the top has a motor in it to create an oven which will bake, grill, roast etc. I cook everything from roasts, scones, pizza, hot bread rolls, heating up pies and TV dinners etc etc. I got mine for well under $100 from Countdown several years ago, but i believe K Mart have them. It has 2 knobs.....temperature and timer.

You are describing a copy of an Easy Cook which I have been using for centuries now. Like you, I find their versatility amazing.

I have now purchase a couple of silicone net mats which I use so that I can lift everything out all at once. They are used constantly in my Easy Cook now, on top of one of the racks.
