Egg cooker.....

#Post
1

Bought a little bucket thing at Kmart to cook an egg in M/Wave.
best thing since sliced bread.
40 seconds and you have a perfect round egg for your toast.
And all for $2.

looks like no one cooks eggs in microwave, except me and I just throw them into a bowl, beat them up and eat them up.no special gadget needed

...mmm hard to describe. 30sec a little runny, 40 secs just right for me. not rubbery at all.mind you might depend on size of egg. I only had a 6.
You gotta try it out, after all it is only $2.I just love the roundness on a bit of toast.

I have an old electric one. It was a wedding present nearly 40 years ago and still works perfectly. Ours does boiled or poached and I wouldn't be without it.

I was thinking of getting one for my daughter when Kmart comes to Invercargill. She loves poached eggs and this maybe good for her.

they do not come out like a normal poached egg, not runny, but today, worked out instead of boiling eggs and peeling. a couple of these in m/w would save all that.
Then mash them for sandwiches..
I am still in love with it....

Does the roundness matter?

Is this a silicone cup shaped item I saw in Kmart?

...I guess so, they are about 2in high.
Today I used one of the containers that AUNTY BETTY'S little puddings come in. excatly worked as well.
I also chopped a little bit of ham and put in the bottom.. still on 40secs....guess you could whisk the egg too.

We got given a gadget that does boiled eggs once as a gift. Thought at the time it was something that I'd never use. It is great - can cook up to 5 eggs at once and you can select how hard or runny you want the yolk and it has a buzzer that goes off when it is finished. Perfect boiled eggs each time.

Might have to try the kmart one for the poached!

I bought a set but thought they went into a pan of hot water to cook, didn't realise they were for the microwave... was going to try them today for lunch as have a bit of a headcold and sore throat so thought a poached egg would be nice for lunch... obviously I need to check as have never cooked an egg in the microwave
