Milk pudding made with seashell pasta?

Does anyone remember how to make it. My mum used to make it all the time for us, but I can't remember how and do not have a recipe for it. Do know it had milk and the pasta seashell shapes in it. Was nice and creamy. Pretty sure it was baked in the oven as well, Would love to know what else was added and the amounts if possible.

Here's a suitable custard mix (I'd halve this), and just add pasta shapes (or left-over cooked rice) to it. The top forms a yummy "skin" and is great speckled with freshly grated (or powdered) nutmeg. I grew up with this type of old-fashioned pudding, and still indulge occasionally..... Note: the same mix of eggs and milk, less the sugar, can make a great savoury dish, loaded with partly cooked vegetables, maybe some bacon, and salt and pepper.

We were brought up on this.
Oma made a thin vanilla custard,no eggs ,and dumped any suitable pasta in ti. Usulally elbows. Big treat after the war years.

A funny story about this ...When I was a young bride hubby said he would like one that his mother made like this and so I rang mother in law and asked how she said just put a scattering of pasta in cassarole dish and add milk and sugar and cook so I thought well that easy did that and proudly served up for pudding went to serve and couldnt get the dam stuff out of dish whats she hadnt told me was cook the pasta first....was like very set thick glue
