When ordering a Wedding record from Scotland can you clarify what one gets please? I'm looking at 1826

Is it just what one sees on the Scotlands people record? ie. what is shown when we buy the credits to view? nothing more.
If that is so, then there's no use trying to order a certificate!

For that time period all you get is a scan of the parish record. The information can vary but generally just has the name of the groom and bride and if they are of that parish. Sometimes you will get the name of the brides parents but it all depends on how thorough the parish clerk is when recording the marriage.

As nandag said, occasionally you may get a little more, but there will be no certificates as we know them today until 1855
