Sinking in Ancestry a Rope Please

1 | I was lucky enough to be gifted for my B/D & Xmas a DNA Test & Ancestry Subscription. I have the results and now the new updates of being able to search thought mother or fathers sides has arrived I did think wonderful but now sinking and even more confused. Ok limited skills in most things lol so any basic/simple instructions' would be wonderful. I really only want to confirm 'my birth father' is whom I have been told he is. But seems ranks have closed around this on me, which is why I was given the Ancestry present. I am more than happy for anyone to look at my Ancestry Tree though guessing without my password 'you' wouldn't be able to see my DNA results?? I assumed (and we all know what that means ) lol I thought that with the new searching capabilities for searching prenatal results and getting new DNA matching from there I can confirm my DNA matching this side?? I am probably not asking this question very coherently?? I am not online 24/7 lol though since receiving Ancestry I think I am lol. I just want to confirm my DNA matches that of member's / descendants of my birth father. (he is not alive and although my birth mother and birth farther are on my "original" birth certificate ) his second wife has told me in no uncertain term's he is not my "birth father" My birth mother said he is until she died stuck with this. Help!!!! Anyone wanting to touch 'personal' base with me feel free to ask on one of my auctions please. I will not post any replies to such on my auctions. 2 | you can invite a person to see your DNA results and tree, no need to share the password, whatever you do don't make that person an owner or can edit, just have them as a guest here's the help page for you to read on how to invite someone https://support.ancestry.com/s/article/Sharing-my-Full-Ances crab2 - 2019-03-23 11:34:00 |

4 | you should still see how to do things Edited by crab2 at 1:32 pm, Sat 23 Mar crab2 - 2019-03-23 13:30:00 |
5 | Worry about sharing when you've figure out who to share with. What do you know about your father's family? Do you have names of his parents and grandparents? You do need to have some idea of what the answer might be before you go looking. Then look at your shared matches. Are there any that look familiar? Of those, do any come from your father's side? (Ancestry can only split them by parents sides if one of them has tested, so you won't have that.) Then it will get more complicated, but do that for starters! 9 | Anne I had the same issue with an aged computer back in the day. I used the library computers for my genealogy in the start and got lots done that way. That might be a viable option for you too. The added benefit is that there was often a more experienced genealogy addict there at the same time and I learned a few tips and tricks. l.e - 2019-03-24 08:55:00 |
