William John Taylor

Wondering whether anyone has access to the marriage license on line of the above. He married a Mary Elizabeth Arnold in 1887 in New Zealand. All I have from his son's ( Bertie Edward Taylor) army records is that he was born in Kent, England. Hoping there might be more information on his marriage license to age, parents etc. Appreciate the look up. Thanks.

You would have to order the marriage certificate/printout to find those details. Online is only indexes.

Intentions to Marry which are like a marriage license are free to view - but you have to go to Wellington Archives to see them!

They include age, how long in the district, but not parents or where born.

If you order online "Notices of Intention to Marry" used to cost $8 Now $50!!
As rednicnz says free if you or you can get someone to go to Wellington to see it.

Marriage Ref No 1887/1064 10 Nov 1887

If you do order from I/Affairs get a printout. Cheaper.

I think officially it's called "cost recovery".
